2) Введение новой темы, ее названия " Leisure Activities"

Задачи: 1) Совершенствовать умения и навыки учащихся в

диалогической и

монологической речи.

2) Использование в речи учащихся ранее изученных

грамматических

конструкций при составлении диалогических и монологических

высказываний.

3) Активизация в речи учащихся новой лексики по данной теме.

4) Практиковать учащихся в аудировании и устной речи.

Good morning, boys and girls!

Im glad to welcome you to our English lesson today. Let me see if anybody is absent today. Well, we are all here. So its time to start.

Well, now lets brush – up our memories and talk about our previous theme– Holidays. So, could you remind me which holidays are celebrated in England and England? Ss: Christmas, Mothers Day, Remembrance day and others.

And what do usually people do on those days?

Ss:– They usually decorate the Christmas tree, cook food and invite friends and relatives, send each other greeting cards.

Thats right. You know some people decorate their houses for some holidays with the decorations made by their own hands. The others like making greeting cards or cooking different food. As you have guessed they like doing such activities because they consider them as their hobbies.

So the theme of our lesson is "Leisure Activities". As you know, we have already talked about it last year when you were in the 5th form. But today we will try to think deeper on it. Perhaps you have changed your opinions about hobbies and their meanings.

So, we will start from brushing up our memories connected to the words and words combinations with our theme "Leisure Activities" Its also written on the blackboard.

What words do you know related to our theme?

Ss: Keeping pets, collecting stamps, riding the bike, reading the book, to be fond of, to enjoy .

Thanks, and now you will be given the table with a task on it. You have 5 minutes to fill it. ( The table is replaced in the Presentation )

Now Id like to you to tell me which of these hobbies are more or less interesting among young and old people? Which in your opinion also are more or less expensive, noisy or quite, outdoor and indoor hobbies?

Ok. Look at the blackboard. Here you can see some new words about hobbies and pastimes. Listen how I pronounce them, and then youll try to repeat them after me.

After that some of the students repeat them again , in case if they make pronunciation mistakes, Ill correct them (ing)

Now I want you to make up sentences, including new vocabulary (ask 3-4 students).

Your next task is to guess the missing words in the following sentences (they are written on the board)

1. Fiona likes collecting dry leaves and plants, as she is fond of (making compositions – pictures) of them.

2. Jane often buys different threads and magazines with ready clothes, as her hobby is (knitting).

3. A lot of people are often busy guessing the words in the magazines or newspapers, because they like (doing crosswords).

4. Its necessary to have a large suitcase, warm clothes, glasses for (travelling).

5. Svetas sister gave her an interesting book for her birthday, as she enjoys (reading).

Your Pastime and Hobby

Hobby is what a person likes to do in his spare time. Hobbies differ like tastes. If you have chosen a hobby according to your character and taste you are lucky because your life becomes more interesting. The most popular hobby is doing things. It includes a wide variety of activities from gardening to traveling, from chess to volleyball. Both grown-ups and children are fond of playing different computer games. This hobby is becoming more and more popular. Making things include drawing, painting, handicrafts. Many people collect something – coins, stamps, compact discs, toys, books. Some collections are pretty valuable. Rich people often collect paintings, rare things and other art objects. Often such private collections are gifted to museums, libraries.

As for me, I like to listen to music. 3 months ago my parents bought me a compact disc player and I decided to collect compact discs. I like different music, it only must be good. I collect discs of my favourite groups and singers. I carefully study the information printed on disc booklets. I try to find out everything about my favourite singers. Also I like to watch music programmes on TV. I want to keep up with the news in the world of music. Of course, I like to spend my spare time with my friends. We talk about all sorts of things (politics, teachers, girls). We discuss films, books, TV programmes. In fine weather we like to be in the open air. We find a nice place somewhere in the forest. We make a fire, bake potatoes and have a lot of fun. When the weather is bad, my friends come to my place. We have a good time together.
