Scene 5

( Shout of a girl. Toto is barking. A roar of a lion. Toto chases the Lion. Tiny Toto bravely threw himself on the enemy)

Elli – Stop! You don’t dare to touch Totoshka! Aren’t you ashamed to offend the weak! You are just a coward!

Lion – How have you learned that I am a coward? I have always been a coward. I try to hide my cowardness but it still crops up outside. I can do nothing with it.

Elli – Why are you a coward? It can’t be so. Lions can’t be cowardly.

Lion Such was born. Being a young I was afraid of my own tail. Of course, everyone thinks I am brave. It’s fortunate that no one knows that I am a coward. I am very ashamed, but I can not remake myself. I wish to be courageous. After all I am the tsar of animals but I can only cry and waul. Mew!

Elli – Come with us to Great magician Goodwin.

Lion – In such a case he will give me a little courage. It’s my cherished desire.

Toto – Go with us and be our kind companion. And drive away from Elli other animals. (THEY LEAVE THE STAGE)

Scene 6

(A deep forest. A groan is distributed. A Woodcutter appears. )

Woodcutter – There is nobody to help me. For a year no one has come to help me. (ELLI APPEARS WITH HER FRIENDS)

Frightened – Hey and Hey! (Knocks a stick on the Woodcutter)

Elli – Did you groan? How can I help you?

Woodcutter – My joints have rustied and I can not move. But if I swear I’ll be like new one. You will find a lubricator in my hut on a regiment. ( TOTO AND FRIGHTENED WALK ARO ND AND WATCH HIM WITH C RIOSITY)

Frightened – Tell me a friend, Is a year a very long time? Is it more than 3?

Woodcutter – How silly you are! You apparently don’t know how to count. (FRIGHTENED TAKES OFFENCE)

Frightened – You are mistaken. The owner made me – it’s one. I quarreled with a black raven – it’s two. Elli removed me from a pole it’s three. (ELLI L BRICATED NECK, THEN JOINTS OF HANDS. THEN WOODC TTER L BRICATED HIS FEET )

Woodcutter – Oh, how nice! Thank you very much. If not you, I would turn to an iron dust. You saved my life. Who are you?

Elli – I am Elli and these are my friends.

Frightened – I am Frightened. I am stuffed with straw.

Toto – Toto, Bow-wow. We are going to the Emerald City to Great magician Goodwin.

Lion – Mew!

Elli – I wish Goodwin to bring me back to Kansas to my mum and dad.

Frightened – I wish to ask him for a few brains for my straw head.

Toto – And I go because I love Elli and because it’s my duty to protect her from enemies.

Woodcutter – I am the Iron Woodcutter. I prepare here firewood. I leave them in wood and everyone who needs to kindle the center, comes here behind fire wood.

Lion – What a kind heart you have?

Woodcutter – But I don’t have any heart. If you take me to your company, I’ll go with you to the Emerald city and ask Goodwin to give me a great heart. After all, to have a heart is my greatest wish.

Toto – Yes, hasn’t carried to the person!

Elli – Oh, my friends. I’m so glad. Now I have three beings and you have three cherished desires. (EVERYBODY LIVES THE STAGE. WOODC TTER RET RNS AND TAKES THE L BRICATOR).

Woodcutter – I can be caught in the rain and rust. And without a lubricator I’ll have a lot of problems.

Scene 7

(In the Emerald city. People are engaged in something on the stage)

Frightened – Strange, but marvelous. Why is everything painted in bright green color? Why are the citizens of this city wearing green clothes?

Woodcutter – It means that we are in the Emerald country. Don’t you know that Emerald is green?

Elli – I am studying to death. Look at Totoshka! He is tired and has become absolutely unproductive. (A WOMAN PASSES BY)

Woman – My dear child! Are you tired? Oh, I see you are tired and hungry. Let’s go to my place. I’ll feed you and give you beds. Who are you? Where are you going?

Elli – We are going to the Emerald city and would like to see Great magician Goodwin.

Woman – Are you assured that he will receive you?

Elli – Why not?

Woman – Poor girl. The emerald city is a surprising and wonderful place. But nobody has ever seen Great magician. Day and night he sits in a big throne – room of his palace. Goodwin doesn’t like to be seen and it will be a rather complicated problem for you. OK, it’s high time you should go to sleep.

Scene 8

(Morning. Weak green light over the big gate. Elli with friends stand at the palace. She pulls the bell. A short man in green meets them)

Faramant – Allow you to be presented, allow you to be pleasant!

Elli – Allow you to be presented, allow you to be pleasant!

Faramant – I am a guardsman. I protect an input in the Emerald City. Who are you?

All together – We are travellers. We go to Great Goodwin and we wish him to help each of us.

Frightened – I am a straw stuffed animal and I need brains.

Woodcutter – I am made from iron and would like to get a heart.

Lion – I am a cowardly lion and my greatest wish is to get a little bravery.

Elli – I am Elli from Kansas and I want to come back home.

Toto – We’d like to see Great magician Goodwin and hope that he’ll grant our desires.

Frightened – We hear Goodwin is a kind wise man.

Faramant – You were almost presented to me, you were almost pleasant to me. Great Goodwin operates the Emerald City wisely and well. I am a Guard of Gate, Faramant, and I should accompany you to Goodwin, only put on glasses, without them you will be blinded by magnificence of the Emerald City. It is wise Goodwin’s order. But in the beginning I wish to ask you: What is it necessary to tell before you address to Goodwin with your request?

Elli – Be so kind, please.

Faramant – And when he executes everything what you ask him? (ALL SCRATCH A NAPE)

Elli – Many thanks.

Frightened – I am very conscious. Oh, I am very grateful.

Lion – I will never forget it. Mew!

Woodcutter – I thank with all my heart!

Faramant – It is all necessary to tell. (DISTRIB TES GLASSES)

– Wait here, I will report on Great Goodwin on your arrival. (WHILE WAITING ELLI SINGS A SONG AND DANCES WITH TOTOSHKA)

– Great Goodwin says that signs you, especially when he has learned that you have silver shoes. But he will accept you one by one. Elli, Great Goodwin is waiting for you. (ELLI AND FARAMANT REMAIN ON THE STAGE. GOODWIN’S MASK APPEARS ON THE THRONE)

Goodwin – I am Goodwin, Great and Awful. Who are you and why do you disturb me?

Elli – I am Elli, small and weak. I have come here from a far-away country and would like to ask you for help.

Goodwin – Where did you get these silver shoes?

Elli – From a deep cave of the malicious magician Gingema. My small house fell on Gingema and crushed her. I’d like to be back home, to my dad and mum.

Goodwin – I do nothing by gift. If you want to avail my magic art to come back home you should do what I’ll order you.

Elli – What should I do?

Goodwin – Release the Violet Country from the power of malicious magician Bastinda.

Elli – But I can’t. You demand impossible thing of me.

Goodwin – Go and don’t come back until you carry out my order. (ELLI CRIES. HER FRIENDS APPEAR ON THE STAGE ONE BY ONE)

Frightened – I am Frightened stuffed with straw and I’ll never get brains for my straw head if I don’t execute Goodwin’s order.

Lion – And I’ll never receive courage!

Woodcutter – And I’ll never receive heart!

Elli – We are together. That’s our power. But how can we find a road to the Violet country?

Woodcutter – Let’s go there where the sun rises and in order to make our way easier let’s sing! (THEY SIN A SONG)

Scene 9

(In the Violet country)

Elli – I am tired and I wish to sleep. (SHE FALLS ASLEEP. BASTINDA APPEARS)

Bastinda – How could she get these silver shoes? I don’t think that such a weak and sick little girl could master powerful Gingema. I am in great danger. Her silver shoes are magic! (ELLI WAKES P)

– Hey, you! What is your name?

Elli – Elli, madam.

Bastinda – Where did you get these silver shoes?

Elli – I am not guilty. My small house fell on Madam Gingema and crushed her.

Bastinda – Is Gingema dead? Look here, Elli! It’s your fault and you will be held in servitude and if you work badly I’ll beat you with a big stick and put you into a cellar with rats. (BASTINDA P SHED ELLI FROM THE STAGE. THEN ELLI APPEARS WITH A BROOM, WIPES THE D ST, SITS DOWN AND FALLS ASLEEP. BASTINDA APPEARS AND STEALS SHOES)

Bastinda – Nobody knows that I have settled all my magic art and I have nothing in a stock. I set my hopes on these silver shoes. I hope hey will help me. (ELLI WAKES P)

Elli – What for did you take my shoes? Shame on you!

Bastinda – Try to take them away! (THEY R N ON THE STAGE. THEN ELLI TAKES A B CKET WITH WATER AND THROWS IT ON BASTINDA)

– What have you done! I’ll melt. Death from water was predicted to me and here my end has come. (BASTINDA LIES ON THE STAGE AND CRAWLS NDER THE C RTAIN)

Scene 10

(EVERYBODY IS ON THE STAGE)

Elli – All is well that ends well. We are coming back to the Emerald City.

(THEY APPROACH A GREEN PALACE)

– I can’t see anybody. Where is Goodwin? It’s high time he should grant our desires. (WE HEAR GOODWIN’S VOICE)

Goodwin – I am Goodwin, Great and Awful. Why do you disturb me?

Elli – We have come to ask you to keep your promise. We have released the Violet country from Bastinda.

Goodwin – Really? OK, come tomorrow and I’ll think over your requests. (TOTOSHKA BEGINS TO BARK AND ESCAPES SOMEWHERE. A SMALL MAN R NS O T ONTO THE STAGE)

Woodcutter – Who are you?

Goodwin (in a trembling voice) – I am Goodwin, Great and Awful. I’ll carry out everything you demand from me.

Elli – shame on you to make a fool of people!

Goodwin – In the beginning I felt ashamed, then I got used/

Frightened – Does it mean that I won’t get any brains? I will be unfortunate without them.

Goodwin – Come tomorrow and I fill your head with top-quality brains. But you should learn to use them.

Woodcutter – Will you help me and give me a heart?

Goodwin – Heart makes people unhappy. It’s not a great advantage to have a heart. But tomorrow you will have it.

Lion – What about courage?

Goodwin – You are only short of belief in yourself. Well, you will have it.

Elli – What about Totoshka and me?

Goodwin – I have guessed how to help you. We are flying by air on a cylinder. And now listen. I appoint a governor Frightened Great instead of myself . (ELLI SAYS GOOD-BYE TO HER FRIENDS)

Toto (to Lion) – I’ll never forget my great friend and I will send your warmest regards to all Lions I’ll meet in Kansas.

(A SO ND OF WIND, STORM. GOODWIN’S VOICE)

Goodwin – Hurry up, hurry up! (ELLI R NS ON THE STAGE WRAPPING HERSELF FROM THE WHIRLWIND)

Elli – He has flown away! I don’t have any hope of returning to Kansas any more.

Faramant – Don’t worry. There is only one kind magician who can help you. Her name is Stella from the Pink Country. She is the mightiest of all the magicians of this country.

Lion – I’ll go with Elli.

Woodcutter – It’s a good idea. I’ll go to sharpen my axe.

Frightened – We’ll leave immediately. (ELLI THANKS HER FRIENDS. THEY LEAVE LOOKING BACK TO THE EMERALD CITY)

Woodcutter – After all, Goodwin was not such a bad wizard. (THEY LEAVE)

Scene 11

(In the Pink Country)

Elli – How beautiful it is! Look, I see a magician, probably ,she is Stella.

Stella – Good day! Nice to meet you, Elli! What do you want from me?

Elli – Return me, please, to Kansas. My parents are grieving for me. My heart is compressed with a pain and pity.

Stella – But you think that Kansas is a boring and grey dusty steppe. Look around, my country is marvelous.

Elli – Kansas is my homeland.

Stella – Your wish will be executed. (STELLA LOOKS AT FRIENDS) – What do you think to do when Elli returns home?

Frightened – I want to return to the Emerald city.

Woodcutter – I’ll be sad.

Lion – I would like to find myself in a beautiful deep forest. Animals of this wood have selected me their tsar.

Elli – How can you manage to return me to Kansas, madam?

Stella – Your silver shoes will transfer you through woods and mountains. If you knew magic wonderful force of your silver shoes you would return home just he day when your house crushed malicious Gingema.

Elli – I don’t regret that I lived so long in the country of Goodwin. I am only a little weak girl, but I loved you and always tried to help all of you.

Frightened, Woodcutter, Lion – It’s painful and sadly to part with you, Elli. You learned us the greatest and the best thing in the world – to be friends. (ELLI CLASPS HER FRIENDS)

Stella – Now, Elli, you should knock one heel about another heel and name a place. Farewell, my dear.

Elli – Let them transfer me to Kansas immediately. Farewell, friends! I’ll never forget you! (ELLI PRESSES TOTOSHKA AND CRIES) – Bring me with Totoshka to Kansas to my mum and dad. (SO ND OF WIND. ELLI DISAPPEARS. BLACKO T ON THE STAGE. SO NDS OF HENS AND COWS. ELLI LOOKS ON HER BOOTS)

Elli – Mum, you are so beautiful, like a fairy.

Mother – Simply, you love me.

Elli – I love you and daddy very much. (SO ND OF TH NDER)

Mother – I am afraid hurricane is approaching.

Elli – There will be no more hurricane. Our small house crushed Gingema long time ago. (MOTHER WITH MIS NDERSTANDING LOOKS AT ELLI)

Mother – Who is Gingema?

Elli – The malicious magician.

Mother – Oh, Elli, you again with your imaginations. (MOTHER LEAVES. ELLI SITS IN THO GHTF LNESS AND HEARS VOICES OF FRIENDS)

Frightened – Good night, Elli!

Lion – Sleep easily, Elli!

Woodcutter – Good dreams to you, Elli!

Elli – I will miss you, my dear friends!

Заключение

Современные методы обучения развивают самостоятельное мышление ребёнка, развивают его интеллектуальные, творческие и коммуникативные умения, позволяют разнообразить формы контроля, самоконтроля и взаимоконтроля. Это позволяет поддерживать у школьников интерес к предмету, помогает включить каждого ученика в активную учебную деятельность.

Выполнение заданий проекта выходят за рамки урока и требуют много времени, но часто усилия оправдывают себя, т. к. при этом решается ряд важных задач:

1. занятия не ограничиваются приобретением учащимися определённых знаний, умений и навыков, а выходят на практические действия учащихся, затрагивая их эмоциональную сферу, благодаря чему усиливается мотивация учащихся при изучении иностранного языка;

2. учащиеся получают возможность осуществлять творческую работу в рамках заданной темы, самостоятельно добывая необходимую информацию, в том числе лингвистическую, не только из учебников, но и из других источников;

3. в проектной работе весь учебный процесс ориентирован на учащегося: здесь, прежде всего, учитываются его интересы, жизненный опыт, индивидуальные способности и т. д.

Таким образом, можно сказать, что выполнение проектных заданий позволяет учащимся видеть практическую пользу от изучения иностранного языка, следствием чего является повышение интереса к этому предмету.

В процессе индивидуальной, парной, групповой, коллективной работы над проектами происходит формирование способностей к коммуникации. В период выполнения проектов у школьников развиваются следующие умения:

– общеучебные: работа с учебником, со словарём, справочной литературой, составление плана и т. д. ;

– специальные: умение сокращать текст и передавать его в устной форме, осуществлять тематический подбор лексики и т. д. ;

– собственно коммуникативные умения по видам речевой деятельности, включающие речевое и неречевое поведение.

У учителя иностранного языка возникает педагогическая и психологическая проблема первоначального создания, формирования или сохранения уже существующей у школьника потребности общения на иностранном языке и познания средствами этого языка личностно-значимой действительности. Таким образом, общий принцип, на котором базируется метод проектов, заключается в установлении непосредственной связи учебного материала с жизненным опытом учащихся.

Важнейшими факторами, которые способствуют формированию внутреннего мотива речевой деятельности при проектном обучении являются:

– связь идей проекта с реальной жизнью ;

– наличие интереса к выполнению проекта со стороны всех его участников;

– формирование знаний о культуре, реалиях и традициях стран изучаемого языка, представлений о достижениях культуры своего и других народов в развитии общечеловеческой культуры;

– осознание особенностей своего мышления на основе сопоставления изучаемого языка с родным;

– приобретение опыта творческой и поисковой деятельности, умение осуществлять проектную деятельность ( в том числе межпредметного характера);

– формирование и совершенствование коммуникативной компетенции, совокупность ее составляющих.

Данная работа является очередным этапом многолетней работы в рамках внеаудиторной проектной работы. Приступая к работе 10 лет назад мы отдавали себе отчет в том, что нам понадобится много времени, чтобы решить целый спектр учебных задач. Естественно, многое еще предстоит сделать. Планируется расширить рамки театральных постановок, а также увеличить количество участников, так как мы понимаем, что именно в этом пространстве осуществляется активизация изучаемого учебного материала, его интерпретация на новом языковом уровне с выходом на практическую коммуникацию посредством драматизации и театрализации.

Планирую в перспективе проводить работу по научно-методической теме « Театрально-языковой социум как средство повышения мотивации школьников при обучении английскому языку».

Реализация указанных целей и формирование различных компетентностей достигается в результате освоения следующего содержания образования, представленного в виде блоков, соответствующих выделенным компонентам коммуникативной компетенции.

Применение современных информационных технологий и нетрадиционных форм урока способствует развитию интереса у учащихся к учебной деятельности, увеличивает самостоятельность школьников, развивает креативность, грамотность, активность, позволяет проявить свои исследовательские способности.

Проектная методика значительно повышает уровень владения языковым материалом, внутреннюю мотивацию учащихся, способствует совершенствованию уровня владения страноведческой информацией
